Malcom Stewert

Malcom Stewert has been having some problems finishing a race without a crash. In Houston he made it to the main event but fell in the first corner. With his quick lap times and determination he made it back up to 16th place at the end of the 20 lap race. Last week his teammate PJ Larson suffered from a torn ACL injury, this always sets riders back from their yearly goals.

Stewart said after the race "The team and I are working so hard throughout the week to make the improvements we need and each time we get to the race I feel great. Unfortunately, I have had a lot of issues involving crashes this year that have set me back. There are still a couple rounds left and I would still like to put my KTM in a podium position.” Stewart is a great rider and I think that he will get his bike on the podium at the next race coming up.

What goes into a race.

When you have a race coming up you start getting ready for the race weeks before. You need to be able to ride hard for 35 laps, which means being in good shape. In the Lites class you ride 6 laps for heat races and in the main even you ride 25 laps. For the Pro class you ride 8 laps for the heat races and 35 laps for the main event. If you have never ridden before, it is pretty hard work. While you are riding you can experience arm pump or cotton mouth, both are annoying but should go away after a few laps.

Once the race is over and you have won, all the work is over. Now you get interviewed and go on stage and receive you trophy. Once you accept your trophy you talk about the race, where you want to improve and talk about upcoming races. There is a lot of work that goes into each race, so you have to be very committed to it.
